The slopes east of Lake Lisi between Machavariani Street and Mtkwari River are a site of heavy construction including large cuts as well as backfillings of valleys. According to the "Tbilisi Territorial Geological Hazard Zone Map" of the National Environmental Agency (2019), the area is mainly classified as "high hazard zone" [U 1]. During March 2021 serious slope failures at a large scale occured above Machavariani Street with high rates of deformation
